Ink & Stone (inkandstone.co.uk) sells UV-printed stone slices cut from genuine Dorset stone. By ordering from us, you agree to these terms.
Every slice we sell is a genuine, individually quarried piece of stone with its own bed, colour and natural markings — no two are identical. The photograph and description on the product page are an accurate representation of that specific numbered slice, not a generic sample. Once a slice is sold, we cannot supply an identical replacement, because none exists.
After you choose a slice and upload your image, we check it against that slice's exact dimensions and send you a digital proof. We do not begin printing until you approve the proof. Printing only starts after your approval, so please check names, dates and cropping carefully — once ink is fused to the stone it cannot be removed or corrected.
All prices shown are in pounds sterling and include UK VAT where applicable. Payment is taken in full at checkout, over encrypted, PCI-compliant infrastructure. We reserve a slice for you only once payment has been received.
We aim to dispatch approved orders within the timescale shown at checkout. Slices are heavy, natural stone items — they are packed in board and wood wool and shipped by tracked courier. Risk passes to you once the item is delivered to the address you provided. See our Delivery & Warranty page for full details, including damage-in-transit claims.
As a UK consumer buying online, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel an order for a full refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, starting the day after you receive your item.
Important exception — personalised, one-of-a-kind slices. Every slice we sell is printed to your specification, onto a unique natural stone that cannot be resold or reused once printed. Goods made to a customer's specification or clearly personalised are exempt from the standard right to cancel under Regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 — this applies to every slice we sell, because the print is bespoke to you and the stone itself is a one-off. Because of this, once you have approved your proof and printing has begun, you cannot cancel for a refund simply because you've changed your mind.
This does not affect your right to a remedy if your slice arrives faulty, damaged, or not as described — see the section below.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If your slice arrives faulty, damaged in transit, or doesn't match what was shown and approved in your proof, contact us within 30 days for a repair, replacement, or refund. Because each slice is unique, a like-for-like replacement may mean printing a new proof onto a different (but comparable) stone.
